CALL-IN EVENT - MARK YOUR CALENDAR - Get involved now.  Are you thinking about purchasing a home?  Are you curious if the NSP program is right for you? Saturday, May 16, 2009, Starting at 9:00 a.m. you can call 770-834-8708 to request an NSP client application.  Only the first 100 callers will get an application. Don't miss out!

To be eligible for NSP-assistance, prospective homebuyers must qualify for a fixed interest rate first mortgage from a mortgage lending institution and must complete an eight hour Homebuyer Pre-Purchase class taught by a HUD-approved housing counseling agency. The program is only for owner-occupied homes, and can not be used for investment properties. Click here to obtain a listing of HUD approved housing counseling organizations:

DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE - The Georgia Dream NSP Purchase Program was created to encourage the purchase of foreclosed properties. Funds utilized are an allocation of federal dollars received by the Department of Community Affairs from the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, which in turn is being funneled to local NSP Programs, like the City of Carrollton's.

The program provides $14,000 to eligible borrowers purchasing foreclosed properties in eligible areas. Funds are disbursed in the form of a second mortgage lien with no interest and no monthly payments. The lien is released over a period of five years and six months.
