Job Title: PART-TIME Gymnastic Coach

Job Description:
DESCRIPTION: Instructors work under direct supervision of gymnastics coordinator. Gymnastics class instructors work part-time during the fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions. Conduct assigned classes or assist with programs as needed.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Coordinator
DIVISION: Programs
CLASS OF JOB (Seasonal/Part-time): Part-time
AVERAGE HOURS WORKED PER WEEK: 6-20 hours per week
PAY SCALE: Minimum wage and up - depending upon experience
REQUIREMENTS (certifications, strength, ability, education, age, and training): Minimum age of 16; knowledge of skills necessary to instruct beginner to intermediate level classes from two years of age to adult; possess leadership skills; be able to commit to teaching entire six week session; good communication skills; knowledge of using equipment safely and the ability to administer first aid.
DUTIES:
1. Conduct and lead assigned classes.
2. Arrive promptly for classes (at least 15 minutes early) and make necessary preparations.
3. Fill out time sheets and check bulletin board for messages, daily.
4. Maintain accurate activity records/skill sheets/master skill sheet. Give to child, dated at the end of each session
5. Update master roll as to changes or additions of students in the classes.
6. Call students not showing up for class after two absences on your roll. Get reason for absences.
7. Teach and work appropriate skills for student class level. (i.e. follow skill sheet progression)
8. Skill sheets on each student must be maintained throughout the session and completed by week six.
9. Promote students that successfully complete each class level.
10. Leave class roll book in the gym.
11. Report specific behavior problems of participants to gymnastics coordinator.
12. Enforce activity regulations and agency policies.
13. Report broken equipment or maintenance problems to gymnastics coordinator.
14. Maintain professional appearance and attitude.
15. Meet and greet the public.
16. Conduct daily equipment safety checks at work stations.
OTHER: Perform related duties as required.
