Firefighter Cochran began his career with the Carrollton Fire Department in April of 2008. Prior to coming to the Carrollton Fire Department he worked for the Carroll County Fire/Rescue for 2 years. In this time he earned his NPQ1 certification. 

Firefighter Cochran has attended a variety of classes at the Alabama Fire College and also completed the EMI-Basic program at Gadsden State Community College. He is also a member of the Georgia State Fire Fighters Association. 

Firefighter Cochran is currently a volunteer with the Heflin Fire Department.
