I wanted to share some important information regarding the Little Free Pantry…
Due to increasingly rising temperatures outside, we feel it is imperative to provide safe and quality products for consumption. Therefore, we are asking that all donated items be temporarily limited to dry goods, personal hygiene products, paper products, and kid-friendly items. The limitation on donated items will subside once the temperatures cool down. A notice regarding this limitation will be placed on each Little Free Pantry within the next week, and will be also posted on the City’s website and Facebook page. For your review, please see the attached notice.
Also, some exciting news…
To help protect the items inside and deflect the heat, the front glass of each LFP unit has been tinted. The commercial-grade tint deflects about 65% of the heat outside and only absorbs around 35%. Please see the attached photo of the newly tinted Little Free Pantry located at Shay Hill Park.
We would like to acknowledge Mr. Les Helton of Performance Window Tinting for the great job he did tinting each unit and for also making it happen so quickly!
Please remember to check your pantry often for expired items, as anyone can donate. Also report any physical damage to my attention and we will have repairs made as quickly as possible. Keep in mind that demand outsources supply, so the boxes will not always be full.
This program would not be successful without your support and generosity. THANK YOU!
