Ward 4 (SW) Current term expires December 31, 2011    

Mandy Maierhofer was elected in 2004 to fill the unexpired term of deceased Councilmember Dean Brown. Mandy Maierhofer was raised in Carrollton where she attended Carrollton City Schools and graduated from Carrollton High School. Mandy attended Vanderbilt University and received her degree in Art Education from the University of West Georgia. She is married to Peter Maierhofer, also a Carrollton High School Graduate and presently the Aquatics Superintendent for the Carrollton City Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department. Mandy teaches water aerobics for the Parks and Recreation Department and stays active in the arts. The Maierhofer's have three little girls and reside near the University.

Mandy was approached by friends to run for the City Council in her district. She was unsure whether to pursue politics, but with the support of her family and friends, she decided it was her duty to work for her city. Mandy says, "It was time for me to give back to the community I love."

Councilmember Maierhofer ran unopposed for the Ward 4 (SW) Councilmember post in November 2007 and was re-elected to an additional term. Her new term began January 1, 2007 and will expire December 31, 2011.
