NOTICE: Georgia Department of Transportation Paving Portions of Carrollton By-Pass, Drivers May Experience Delays

The State of Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is beginning to pave portions of the Carrollton by-pass.  The bypass and all traffic signals are owned and maintained by the GDOT.  Drivers may experience long turn signal delays at traffic signals on the by-pass during construction.  Particularly, that portion of the bypass from the Ben Scott Boulevard traffic signal and the Hwy 166 West traffic signal.  This issue is caused when the sensors buried in the pavement are disturbed or removed during the paving process.  However, once paving is complete, sensors and traffic signals should return to normal operation.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution when approaching traffic signals and construction areas on the by-pass and may want to use alternate routes around the area if possible.
