Carrollton Main Street invites you to be a part of the 23rd annual Mayfest - MARKET SQUARE. Our downtown historic square and surrounding streets provide the backdrop for crowds of shoppers and participants. Plan to spend the day in Carrollton, Saturday, May 3rd enjoying numerous booths with beautiful arts and crafts, a children's play area, a variety of entertainment and lots of great food. The festival will begin at 9:30 A.M. and continue throughout the day until 4:30 P.M.

Carrollton Kiwanis Art and Music Talent Showcase
Carrollton Kiwanis Art and Music Talent Showcase, on Saturday, February 16, 2008. The showcase begins at 4:00 p.m. in the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center Theatre and features the best of musical talent from local high schools competing for scholarships. Winners of the High School Juried Art Show will also be recognized. Tickets available at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center or through Carrollton Kiwanis Club members. $5 adults and $4 seniors and students. For more information call 770-838-1083.

Auditions for Carroll County Community Theatre’s production of Hello Dolly will be held January 7 and 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center’s Theatre Rehearsal Room. Directed by Kathy Waldrop and accompanied by Harold Walbert. Parts are available for a large cast of men and women. In addition to actors and singers, there are also parts available for dancers and musicians. Production dates are March 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m. Come out and help Carroll County Community Theatre celebrate their 100th production! Based on The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder, Hello Dolly tells the story of Dolly Gallagher Levi, a matchmaker who has been hired to arrange a marriage for the widowed half-millionaire Horace Vandergelder. Dolly, however, has other plans. She has herself been recently widowed and comes to the conclusion that Horace and his fortune will make her the perfect mate. So when she arrives in Yonkers, she immediately begins to plant seeds of doubt in Vandergelder's mind about Irene Molloy, the pretty young widow she has picked out for him.

West African Drumming Class for ages 13-adult, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center in Classroom #1 on Tuesdays, January 8-February 12. Instructor, Tom Harris will teach basic Dunun and Djembe Technique and Traditional Rhythms. Class focus will be to create an ensemble which can perform in the community. Mom and Tot Fine Art Class - for 2 to 5 year olds and a participating adult. Mosaic Mirror Two Day Workshop by Helen Helwig, Thursdays, January 17 & 24 from 6-9 pm at the Carrollton Cultural Arts Center. For ages 18 and up. This workshop, taught by professional clay and mosaic artist, Helen Helwig, will teach participants to create a beautiful mirror surrounded by a mixed media mosaic pattern. By using a variety of materials, including handmade clay pieces, glass gems, broken tiles, found objects and stones, the participant will design and finish a mosaic wall mirror for the home or to give as a gift. CVB continues partnership with Yellow Book USA
The Carrollton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau has renewed its ongoing partnership with Yellow Book USA directory for 2008 and looks forward to the increased visibility the CVB's presence in the directory will give the Carrollton Area. As the primary destination marketing organization for the Carrollton Area, it is not only important that the CVB be known by potential visitors, but equally important for the bureau to be known by local residents -- an objective which Yellow Book USA has been helping the CVB reach for several years and continues to do so with the renewal of this partnership. The CVB provides a wide variety of services to event planners, group travel coordinators, local residents and visitors.
